DDR SDRAM is similar in function to regular SDRAM, but doubles the bandwidth of the memory. DDR supports data transfers on both edges of each clock cycle (the rising and falling edges), effectively doubling the memory chip's data throughput. DDR-SDRAM also consumes less power, which makes it well-suited for notebook computers.
DDR SDRAM provides effective balance between performance, power consumption, stabilization, and cost. DDR SDRAM has a 0.75ns access time and has a power requirement of 2.5V.
DDR SDRAM is available in TSOP package.
