PSC and Rexchip Announce Senior Management Changes

PSC and Rexchip have jointly decided to adjust senior management positions.  PSC President Dr. Brian Shieh will resign from his position as President to take on the post of Chairman of the Joint Venture between PSC and Elpida, Rexchip.  The position of President of PSC will be succeeded by Executive Vice President Dr. Alex Wang.  PSC would also like to engage Dr. Su Lu to take the position of Vice President in charge of R&D.  This management change shows that Taiwan”¦s largest and most profitable camp during the forth quarter has already completed the reorgization of management in order to meet the memory markets coming prosperity.

PSC Chairman, Dr. Frank Huang stated, considering the industry downturn that lasted two years together with the financial crisis, the worldwide DRAM industry has structurally changed.  Cautious capacity planning and strict cost control are important operation strategies for surviving companies.  Management of memory company”¦s need to concentrate on market trends and to stay sharp and only then are they able to stay tough and calm in such a volatile environment.  Therefore, following discussions with Elpida, it was decided that Dr. Huang relinquish one of his many posts as Chairman of Rexchip and appoint Dr. Brian Shieh as his successor.  From now on, Rexchip Electronics Chairman, Dr. Brian Shieh and President Stephen Chen both have held senior management roles at PSC and can jointly focus on production and operations.

PSC and Rexchip on the 29th held a BOD meeting to confirm the senior level executive adjustments.  PSC”¦s newly appointed President Dr. Alex Wang obtained his PhD in Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and previously held the position of General Manager of Memory at Winbond Electronics and joined PSC as the Vice President of R&D and Product Strategy, then later the post of Executive Vice President.  PSC newly appointed R&D Vice President, Dr. Su Lu, obtained his PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign then went on to become the Dean of Chung Cheng Institute of Technology at the National Defense University.  Prior to joining PSC, Dr. Lu was Vice President at Powerflash Technology.
