PSC Monthly Sales Report ”VNovember 2009

Hsinchu, Taiwan”ŠPowerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC, ticker 5346) announced unaudited net sales of 5.38 billion NT dollars for November 2009, representing a month on month growth of 27%, not only again representing the highest monthly sales revenue for the year, but also the first month for PSC to return to profitability.

PSC Vice President and Spokesperson Mr. Eric Tang stated that PSC”¦s ramp in capacity has been smooth, demand from customers are stable, and DRAM prices have shown positive signs of stability, resulting in continued growth in monthly sales for the month of November.  Despite experiencing the longest industry downturn yet, PSC was still able through a flexible production strategy as well as solid operations, without outside assistance, to preserve the company”¦s competitive strengths and is currently benefiting from the recovery in the market.  As a result of outstanding 65nm yields, PSC for the month of November formally returned to profitability and strengthened its financial position.

PSC also indicated that it did not require new capital expenditures to return to profitability last month thus demonstrating PSC”¦s DRAM industry leadership in technology and costs.  As capacity utilization continues to increase, the company will further strengthen its operational efficiency.  In terms of current product composition, in November PSC”¦s 1Gb DDR3 DRAM shipments had already reached 5 million dies, as new wafer production has increased, PSC”¦s DDR3 monthly production will soon reach 10 million dies per month, in order to meet the demands of the PC market which have begun the replacement of the previous generation.
